It wasn't like Sans.
His usual behavior, all laidback and chill... calm, kind, sometimes even charming. But now, everything just... pretty much changed drastically. And he didn't bother wanting to talk to anyone about it. Papyrus, however, often tilted his head and raised an eyebrow when Sans spoke in such a low, monotone voice. After all, he can't open his mouth and talk... he only opens his mouth to eat. So he speaks with magic, and it's pretty much natural. He doesn't even know how he does it himself.
Some other times, Sans had spent his entire days inside his bedroom, sleeping. Maybe even something more... eh! Don't count on it, ladies. Papyrus had worried a lot now, but only because he cared about Sans. His older brother was dear to him, even if it didn't seem like it; the way he would nag at poor lazy Sans, and yell at him for his lame puns. Although, he found them a little... humeru- NOPE! Not gonna even go there. Hah.
Sans didn't even want Papyrus to worry. He wanted his brother to be happy, too. Sometimes he even thought that it'd be better if Papyrus was born without him. But Papyrus always reminded Sans that he was important and loved, even if it didn't seem like it. And Papyrus would be there for him whenever he needed him, too. "That's what brothers are for!!"
Sans didn't really understand why Papyrus cared so much about him. But it gave him a fuzzy feeling in his soul... more about Papyrus gave him that funny fuzzy little feeling. And Sans couldn't understand it. Maybe he was just admiring him?.. Hopefully that's all it was.
But it wasn't.
The way Papyrus stood tall, and was always so optimistic, and cared about everyone and everything in his own way. The way he took pride in every step of his way, the way his long, slightly ripped red-orange scarf danced and wavered in the wind behind him.
It was so cool.
Sans couldn't help but feel awful at this. He didn't want it to worsen... ugh. Having a crush on your own brother! Shame, shame. But he just... he wanted Papyrus all to himself. And he hated himself for that. Being terribly shy, but yet so terribly selfish. How could that be? Well, he was Sans, after all. And nothing can change him. Well, maybe not nothing.

Papyrus knocked on the door to Sans' room, covering the side of his mouth with his gloved hand. He held a plate of his (finest!!) spaghetti in his other hand. "SAAAANS!!" he called not too loudly.
"oh, yeah bro?" came Sans' reply from inside the room.
"LUNCH IS READY!!"
"heh," Sans opened the door, looking up at his tall but younger brother, eyes half-lidded with a lazy smile. "nice."
The two skeletons, Papyrus first with Sans behind, made their way down the stairs. Papyrus went into the kitchen to get another plate of his (once again, finest!!) spaghetti for himself, as he had already placed it down on the table close to the couch where Sans was now sitting. He grabbed his small fork and stabbed gently into several noodles, opening his almost-permanent grin to take a bite. Papyrus came with his own plate and sat down, eagerly eating it and ready to notice if he's improved.
"wow, bro," Sans commented first. "you're... actually improving!"
Papyrus' cheekbones tinted a soft orange as his grinned approvingly. He let out a soft 'nyehehe!', as if he'd done something.
Sans narrowed his eyes, looking at Papyrus, then the spaghetti, and back at Papyrus. "eh? you put somethin' different in here or..?"
"NYEHEHE!!" Papyrus laughed his signature laugh, the corners of his eyes crinkling slightly. "YES!! I DID! I ADDED SOME MORE OF THE SPICES!! DO YOU LIKE IT?"
Sans blinked, grinning a little more. "y-yeah, pap!" he gave a lazy thumbs-up, and then added, "better than i could do, hah." Papyrus tilted his head to the side, but shrugged. The TV was already on... hm. Sans must have turned it on while he was focusing on getting a plate ready for himself. Mettaton was sharing some sort of news report... something about Grillby's being the best restaurant. Well, Sans could finally actually agree with Mettaton on something; he normally didn't like Mettaton or his, what he called, 'dumb' TV shows, but he watched it when Papyrus and him were eating. It made Papyrus happy, and that's probably what Sans just wanted.
When they had finally finished their spaghetti, Papyrus took the plates and threw them into the dishwasher. Sans giggled, the dishes making a loud smashing noise against the back wall of the sink. Oh well, at least nothing broke!
Papyrus took off his gloves to wash the dishes, but then Sans came up, standing on his tippytoes to grab his arm. "papyrus, don'tcha have to go to undyne's for training?" he asked, confused. Papyrus felt just as confused, raising one eyebrow and lowering the other. "YES, I DO!" he responded in his naturally-boisterous voice. "WHY?"
"well," Sans sighed softly. "why don't you go? i'll take care of these for ya."
Papyrus widened his thin eyes. Sans? Doing the DISHES?! What in the name of Asgore is going on here?! He then shrugged it off, nodding. "WELL.. I SUPPOSE! JUST DON'T PRANK WITH ME ON THIS ONE AND NOT DO THEM!!"
"why wouldn't-"
Clink!
Papyrus pressed his teeth against Sans' forehead, gazing at him after pulling away. Sans was stunned, his pupils reduced and then mysteriously and eerily disappeared. "wh.. uh..." Papyrus cupped his mouth with his now once again gloved hand to stifle a giggle. "WELL, I BEST BE ON MY WAY!" Marching quickly but steadily to the door loudly, he opened it and shot a last glance at Sans and added, "GOODBYE SANS!"

What?
Nah, it was just a friendly and brotherly clink on the forehead. Nothin' more. But why is he so curious about it?
"eh, it's probably nothing," Sans murmured aloud to himself, slumping on the couch after finishing the dishes. "he's just probably reminding me that he cares about me."
But Sans highly doubted that. And he didn't want to think Papyrus actually... loved him 'back.' Sans didn't even know what these feelings meant, or what they were... what desires and feelings he held for his little brother. But he had the strongest feeling that these feelings... ho boy..
were feelings of love.
Sans dreaded that. He never wanted 'love.' He didn't deserve 'love.' Platonic, romantic or... anything other than those two that may be a bit more intense. Stars, how he admired Paps though! Just like before, he admired him in every way... his appearance, personality, optimism... oh, goodness goodness me!
He knew that it wasn't what he wanted. He never wanted to fall in love with anyone. In fact, he always hated romance. Like, literally despised it. He didn't know why. He just did.
But Sans then assumed he was probably thinking too much. He didn't want to jump to conclusions and do something he might regret. So he just sighed, closing his eyes to rest them. But whaddaya know? Eh, lazybones fell asleep already! Well, that'll give him a rest. Probably and hopefully a peaceful one.

Papyrus was sitting on the floor of Undyne's bedroom. Alphys was there, too. Undyne only let the two of them in her room, and sometimes Sans if he came over.
The three of them were watching Mew Mew Kissy Cutie 2. Alphys had been snorting in disgust a couple times already. "What's wrong, Al?" she blinked, smirking a little. Alphys narrowed her eyes, her arms crossed and then stuck out one arm. "I don't understand! The plot is so unoriginal, why do you guys even like this crap? It's just.. ugh! I hate it! And, and.. it's just... SO predictable I just can't!" Undyne snickered under her breath. "Well, (hehe) what do you wanna watch then?"
"O-oh!!" Alphys looked a little nervous, shaking her hands back and forth. "N-no, no! You guys can watch it! I just don't like it, that's all!" Undyne frowned slightly, but shrugged. "Whatever ya say," she said, turning back to watch it.
After it was over, Undyne got up. "Well, now that's done... why don't we make spaghetti?!" she exclaimed, eyes narrowed with a glimmer of strong determination in her golden eyes.
"Uh.." Alphys looked around nervously. "Y-you guys can, I'll just-"
"Wait." Papyrus looked around, his eyes narrowed. He wanted to ask Undyne and Alphys something. Something they might have more knowledge of. It's not that he didn't trust Sans to ask him this, he just didn't want things getting awkward. After all, Sans wasn't one to discuss such as what Papyrus was about to ask.
"Yeah, Pap? What is it dude?" Undyne raised an eyebrow, her head tilting to the side and her bright red ponytail drooping. Alphys was looking expectant as well, but she also seemed quite more patient.
"Umm.. well, uh.." Papyrus looked down, twisting and fumbling his gloved fingers around. "..What's 'romance' like?"
Undyne widened her eyes and exchanged a glance with Alphys. "Well, Papyrus," she started. "Romance is a pretty... flustering feeling. I mean, it's good! It's good! But like... you feel flustered in the good way. You feel like the person you're romantically interested in and you should get all mushy, mushy with each other."
"A-actually," Alphys raised a claw, fixing her glasses. "Undyne is r-right, but... don't force yourself into it!! Take a-as much time as you need. Things like.. like romance are things t-that are h-hard to understand and do. S-so, as for my advice and you, j-just take your time and don't rush into it."
Papyrus nodded, shoving his friends' advice into the back of his... well, um, he didn't have a real 'brain,' but... non-existent brain. He then flinched in surprise and unexpectedness when Undyne punched him in the shoulder. "Why?" she asked, smirking. "Who're you crushin' on, Paps?"
The skeleton felt nervous. He didn't really have any strong 'feelings' for anyone yet.. except, uh, Sans. But Sans was his brother. And of course Papyrus was smart enough to know that having a crush on your brother (or any type of family member for that matter) is wrong. So he had the right to not tell anyone. They would probably find out on their own, if that were to somehow happen.
"Papyrus?"
Papyrus was knocked out of his thoughts. He blinked a couple times, then shrugged and smiled. "NO ONE," he replied calmly, despite how worried he felt about Undyne or Alphys assuming. "I JUST WANTED SOME ADVICE, I-IN CASE SOMETHING HAPPENS..!! ANYWAYS, SANS IS PROBABLY WONDERING WHAT'S TAKING ME SO LONG. I DON'T WANNA KEEP HIM WAITING OR ANYTHING! S-SO, UM... I'LL SEE YOU GUYS AROUND!!" And with that, Papyrus was out of the house. Actually, no. He didn't go through the door this time. He jumped through the window.
Alphys turned to Undyne. "He's had something on his mind for a w-while now, Undyne. He does like someone." She covered her chin lightly with her orange-yellow lizard hand. "Hmm.." Undyne shrugged. "Maybe he'll tell us some other time."
"B-but.. crushes are mostly personal! Why would he tell us?" Alphys asked worriedly. Undyne laughed a bit. "We wouldn't judge him or tell anyone, silly!" she responded. Alphys shrugged.
M-maybe I should go have a chat with Sans about it later... haven't s-seen him in a while.
